Jane W. Jacobs, at the age of 100, entered into the presence of the Lord on Saturday, July 4, 2026. She was born to Fred and Lula Williams on April 27, 1926. A lifelong resident of Louisville, KY, Jane was a charter member of Briargate Presbyterian Church. Over the years, she sang in the choir, played the handbells and was an accompanist for worship. She also was on the Session, taught Sunday School and worked as the church secretary. Jane cherished the many friendships she made at Briargate.

Jane also worked at Manual High School and Western High School and was an Eastern Star member and active in several other Masonic Organizations.

Jane is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Clarence P. Jacobs. She was married 38 years and widowed 38 years. She is survived by her three daughters, Amelia Mattingly (Stephen), Louisville, KY, Alice Bergmann (Tim), Grapevine, TX, Clair Arvold (David), Hiawassee, GA. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Heather Arduengo (Josh), McKinney, TX, Stephanie Mattingly, Louisville, KY, Barton Mattingly (Teka), Louisville, KY, Kristen Sparrow (Alex), Cumming, GA, Kasey Arvold, Marietta, GA and Stephen Bergmann, Austin, TX. Jane’s pride and joy were her three great-granddaughters, Maddie Arduengo and Ellie Arduengo, McKinney, TX and Danielle Mattingly, Louisville, KY.

Services for Jane are as follows:
Visitation Friday, July 10, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40216.

Her funeral service will be Saturday, July 11, 11 am at Briargate Presbyterian Church, 2100 Upper Hunters Trace, Louisville, KY 40216. An additional visitation will be one hour before the service on Saturday at Briargate.
